RI.1.3 The hospital demonstrates respect for the following patient needs: RI.1.3.5 pastoral care and other spiritual services; RI.1.3.6 communication. PF.1 The patient’s learning needs, abilities, preferences, and readiness to learn are assessed. PF.1.1 The assessment considers cultural and religious practices, emotional barriers, desire and motivation to learn, physical and cognitive limitations, language barriers, and financial implications of care choices.
314 Staff demonstrates ability to minister with persons of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.	HR.1 The hospital’s leaders define the qualifications and performance expectations for all staff positions. HR.2 The hospital provides an adequate number of staff members whose qualifications are consistent with job responsibilities.
